This past weekend I put together a "surprise" birthday party for my mom. I love planning parties for people & I knew that I wanted to do something special since it was her 60th birthday (yoso = you're only sixty once).
For months, I have been pinning ideas on Pinterest & stashing all my purchases away for her special day. I wanted the theme to be luau/tropical but I wanted to stay away from the traditional rainbow colored decorations that you find at party stores. I used different shades of pink, greens & a touches of gold. I wanted lots of balloons & flowers with pineapple "vases". I handmade the tissue paper flower tablecloth, it took 2 days but it was totally worth it. The cake was from Publix, I ordered it just plain white & added some flowers on top. And what's a party without floating flamingo coozies?!
Get ready for picture overload...

Although the party wasn't a true surprise due to my non-private Pinterest board & a sneaky mom (just kidding, Sally!); it was a success & everyone had such a good time.
